one poem by Adenike Onanuga

Wash

Praying

Whilst the

Sky is open

Raining

Singing and

Loving on loose

Wounds

Healing at

Their crash site

There

Is peace

In bearing witness

Justice

Has mercy

Under its foot

Adenike Onanuga (she/her), who also goes by Nike (nee-kay) is a queer, Philadelphia-based writer who emphasizes connection, spirituality and self-actualization in her writing. She is dedicated to producing work that shifts social-emotional paradigms, gently begs questions that demand discussion, and celebrates the collective accomplishments of the human experience. She writes prose, poetry, novels, short stories, songs, and screenplays. When Nike is not writing, she likes to play bass and guitar in her band or solo, reading, spending time with her loved ones, quilting, and learning new things. Her work has been published in Susquehanna Apprentice Writer, The Temple News, Moonstone's "New Voices" publication, and First Sight Press.
